PREVIOUS PROJECTS

With experience in acting, directing, producing and writing Conny has been working as a freelance theatre maker since 2019 with her debut scratch performance of her one-woman show 'Nhair'. Since she has created a short film series, produced a regional tour and is currently creating her new show 'This isn't Riverdance.'

Nhair


'A hilarious and playful romp through the reality of living with PCOS and the difficulties of creating a perfect outdoor living space.'


Written from her own lived experience of living with PCOS Nhair completed its latest tour in 2022 around the south west region. Nhair was supported by verity, Hall for Cornwall, Bath Spa Enterprise Showcase Fund, Greedy Pig Theatre Company, Plymouth Conservatoire, the generous donors for Nhair's 2021 crowd funder as well as a number of individual creatives throughout it's development.

DWELLINGS

Dwellings, an ode to Plymouth, Plymouth actors and writers explore their love for the city and it’s unique spots. A series for those who love Plymouth, their home and their dwelling. Dwellings has been directed by Conny Hancock, filmed by Matt James Media and production managed by Tim Norman. We have been supported by Plymouth Conservatoire and Bath Spa Productions. Dwellings includes episodes Terrain, written and performed by Sam Plumbe, Directions, written and performed by Grace Felstead, Berth, written by Danni Watmore and performed by Natalie Mae, Sanctuary written and performed by Leah Ingall and Digs written and performed by Lauren Soper.

Conny worked on audio play ‘Tickets, Please!’  as an associate director and producer with Bone to Pick productions. This audio play’s first episode was released in March 2021 on Spotify. Conny completed an internship with Above Bounds as a performer and theatre maker in September 2020. During this internship Conny, with another performer and a writer created the piece 'Madame Gingerbread' under the mentorship of Above Bounds for their Storytelling Week. Conny completed an internship with Plymouth Fringe Festival as an associate producer in November 2020. Conny took part in the online marketing of the festival as well as helping to make sure each production for the online festival was accessible through subtitles. Conny also conducted interviews with companies that took part in the festival, these gave guidance into how to make work for online platforms and allowed the companies to give summaries of their experience working with Plymouth Fringe Festival. This version of 'The Tempest' span itself right back to the 80s at the height of drag, drugs and division. Pulling on the pre-existing themes in Shakespeare's writing we explore the stark parallels of living in a time of division during Brexit-Britain and wanted to explore that through the glitz and glam of the 80s that covered up a very divisive and hateful time.
